The Tree House has Landed

So the tree house equipment is here in Truro.  Thanks to several strong backs and cooperative weather, we managed to get everything in the right place.  There are still a few items that need to be ticked off of the to do list before it gets put together, but we are moving forward.

A special thank you goes out to Ryleigh's Uncle JJ, without whom we may never have figured out how to get everything in the right place.  His spacial ability came in handier than an octopus when it came to manuevering heavy equipment around.  This was especially important last weekend when the truck we were supposed to rent was misplaced leaving us seemingly without wheels.  We visited Discount Truck Rentals and Brett McCully was able to save the day. The truck was smaller than we had ordered from the other guys, but it was in Truro, and that was the relief I was looking for.   Either way JJ figured out how to get all of the equipment into a smaller truck and bam we were in business.  I told him I would never again challenge him at Tetris.

Shopping for equipment and games for Rylegh's Place has been so much fun.  Add to the list a big pile of suggestions from you guys and there is an enourmous amount of options.  I like to go to the store and look at everything before I buy, but I'm sure there will be lots of stuff that needs to be order online.  It will be fun to see the first run of smiling faces scoot through the centre trying to figure out what they will do first.

We also discovered a great organization in Halifax, who will provide your party with a huge assortment of cartoon characters to really take things to the next level.  HRM Mascots have been terrific to work with so far.  Check them out on Facebook for some pictures.

This week we should be launching our website and crowdfunding campaign so you guys can finally get a look at some of the play time options we are offering. We will have the party information everyone has been messaging for at that time.  If there is something special you are hoping to find out this week let us know so we can included it on launch day.  The crowdfunding will offer some huge discounts on playtime as well.  I don't want to give too much away though.

Things are progressing; we can't wait to open; and we're getting excited about finally meeting all of you.  Keep your questions and comments coming.  We just hit 700 Likes too.  Share, like and comment to keep spreading the word.

Introducing Ryleigh's Place to Truro, NS

Hey everybody,

Looking for a place to play has been a long road. I'm a dad, and I have a three year old who loves to run, climb and jump as long as she is awake. As you may have guessed from my title, her name is Ryleigh. Ryleigh's Mom and I have been driving Ryleigh all over the place in search of places to play ever since she was old enough to walk. HRM, Stellarton and even down to Greenwood once, looking for things to do. It was sitting in Roo's Playhouse in Greenwood that got me thinking about bringing a spot like this to Truro.

Ryleigh loves the park!  We have lots of those in Colchester County. You can't enjoy the park in January though. She also loves to bounce. Seeing her face when we go to a play centre is great! I imagine you can relate to that feeling with the children in your life.

18 months ago I began looking at the cost of buying some equipment and opening a play land of my own. There was so much to look at. What kind of location?  Which type of equipment will the children like the most? The numbers were adding up quickly and I hadn't looked at everything yet.

I thought I had a good idea of what I was going to do so I started asking questions. I met some very helpful people who were able point me in the right direction and it seemed by chance someone got so interested in the industry they did some research of their own. What they found moved Ryleigh's Place forward from research to action steps.

The past few months have been full of emails and negotiations, but now the equipment belongs to Ryleigh's Place and we will be setting it up soon. We'll be adding some bouncy castles and some games to the mix to make sure there is always a variety of activities. Check back often to this blog and our website for updates and pictures. Make sure to search us on indiegogo.com as well, for your chance to get some early deals for playtime or maybe get your children a membership so they can play whenever the mood strikes.

I'm excited to meet all of you reading this blog very soon. Feel free to email me for more info anytime at ryleighsplace@outlook.com. Follow us on Twitter @ryleighsplace and like us on Facebook too.

Come play at Ryleigh's Place!
